I always believed that the most important feature in Facebook, the one that can change the world is the “add friend” button.
Imagine if every Iranian had an Israeli friend on Facebook, every Israeli a Palestinian…
So are you up for a one-week-friendship? one week to socialize with the “enemy”?

For International Peace day, we matched over 60 people in our “+1 Friend – Campaign” and helped them become friends.
We hooked up Israelis with Palestinians, Syrians, Iranians, Lebanese… introduced them to each other, let them get into conversations – and it worked.

No suprise, it works every time.
We’re bound to become friends, we share so many things, so many values and so many common experiences.
Israelis, Palestinians, Iranians, Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis – we all know the pain of being refugees or having our families torn due to war. We all know the longing of a place we can call home, we all know how it feels when you miss it.
We know what a good coffee tastes like, we all agree that you must never use canned chickpeas for hummus (who does that?!), and all of us know, of course, how to cross a street in the Middle East (quickly and determined!)

We, the Peace-Factory, believe, that Peace will come from the people. When we become friends, we have the power, to change things in the Middle East. So let’s go for it!

We had one conversation only but it was enough for me to consider Gil as a friend..

… I learned this week that life can bring you a good friend, a real good friend just from writing +1 as a comment on a post..
Isn’t it a big thing? 

Like its always about these small things in life we dont look at, which can do big effect in you.
My grandfather was always telling me one little action might lead you somewhere you never think that you will reach.
….And of course this friendship will go on! But I have a big hope that i come and visit Gil in Israel & invite him to visit me in Aleppo (not these days of course)
….And of course i wish him all the good things that can happen.. Also the same for you and your beautiful team..
